Grave care & tending
Everything below is done by hand, at your pace, and only after we've agreed what the grave needs. Tasks can be arranged as a one-off visit or repeated through the year.
Careful cleaning and maintenance to help keep the resting place looking cared for. This covers the general tidy: clearing leaves, moss and debris, washing down the marker and surrounding kerb, and straightening or refreshing anything that has drifted.
Anything that's cleared away is taken with me rather than left at the roadside.
Headstones can be carefully cleaned using non-harmful products and appropriate methods. Older and weathered stonework in particular asks for a light touch — harsh scrubbing and strong chemicals do more harm than good.
If a stone is leaning, cracked or unstable, I'll say so rather than try to make it look better than it is.
Keeping the surrounding grass neat and tidy — trimmed around the kerb, headstone base and any memorial plot, where the cemetery allows it.
Renewing and tidying decorative chippings around the grave where required. Existing chippings are levelled and topped up so the plot looks settled and well kept.
Help with re-lettering requirements for memorials — where names or dates have faded or need updating, we can look at what's reasonable and arrange this where possible.
Flowers can be arranged and placed on your behalf for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas and other occasions. Fresh or thoughtful long-lasting arrangements, always placed with care.

Other reasonable maintenance requirements can be discussed — seasonal planting, keeping a simple wreath in place, or simply making sure the plot doesn't look neglected between visits. If you're not sure what you need, just ask.
Photographs can be provided before and after work, so families can see the condition of the resting place for themselves — especially useful when you live far away and can't check in person.
Before you ask
The cost of each visit depends on the plot — its size and condition, how far away it is from Frome, and what you'd like done. Rather than guess at prices, I'd always rather take a few details and quote properly — asking for a quote commits you to nothing.
Every cemetery has its own rules about headstones, ornaments and what is allowed on a plot, and those rules are respected in everything I do. Where something isn't permitted, I'll explain why and suggest what I can do instead that achieves the same end.
